The elusive search for dark matter continues – does it even exist?

When you stare up at the night sky, you’ll see hundreds of twinkling stars, maybe a planet or two, maybe a meteor burning in our atmosphere, or a few planes or satellites. What you won’t see is what astronomers believe makes up 25 to 90% of the universe: invisible dark matter.

What is this mysterious dark matter? I don’t know (nor anyone else!). The biggest unsolved problem remains in physics. But does it really exist?

While dark matter is often associated with Big Bang cosmology (which is a “historical science” that cannot be directly tested, observed, or replicated) as a kind of lifesaver, there is observational evidence that dark matter may exist (even if we) cannot be seen or Find out what it is so far). But my authors New study Of the galaxies in their orbits indicate that dark matter does not exist, which is why decades of research have not been able to determine it. If this were true, it would be necessary to rewrite the theory of gravity (obviously this is a huge problem, and this will continue to be a subject of great debate in the astrophysics community!).

Now I will not go into the debate about whether dark matter exists or not. But I thought I’d highlight a statement made by the study’s author towards the end of this famous science article he wrote, summarizing the results of his study. As an implication of his research, he writes,

We need to understand scientifically why the persistence of religious belief that the dark matter-based model, as the most falsified physical theory in human history, is true by the vast majority of highly educated modern scientists. This is a problem for the social and philosophical sciences and suggests the collapse of the scientific method.

What this astrophysicist is basically saying is what we’ve been proclaiming for decades: Everyone has a worldview!

What this astrophysicist is basically saying is what we’ve been proclaiming for decades: Everyone has a worldview! This world view consists of a set of core beliefs about life and the universe, and those beliefs are religiously committed (and actually form part of that person’s religion!). Scientists (and others) are often willing to reject or reinterpret all observational data that does not fit their worldview: not because of the evidence but because of the assumptions they already believe are true.

Contrary to popular belief, this is not something that only “religious” people do (remember, everyone has a religion); The evolutionary community does this constantly because they have the wrong starting point (evolution and millions of years). And it’s actually even worse – the Bible says that such people suppress the truth of God, the Creator. They know about him for what he did, and they are “without excuse” (Romans 1:20).

Oh, and these scientists will never fully understand the universe because it’s in it [Jesus] All things hold together” (Colossians 1:17).
