Millions of ARPA Grant Funds Available for Small Businesses

Businesses must face a variety of struggles. Some are pervasive, such as employment challenges and the negative fallout from the pandemic. Others are quite specific, such as the need to relocate due to local construction. Local governments aim to help their business communities meet these challenges through grants financing programs. Chula Vista ARPA Scholarships

Chula Vista, California recently Passed successfully $3.6 million grant program to support small businesses. The program is using US bailout bills to help local businesses affected by the pandemic. The city provided about $2 million in relief money in 2020. But this program expanded eligibility requirements, so even businesses from home and nonprofits can apply. Eligible businesses and organizations can apply for up to $10,000. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis; City officials estimate that it will take about two months to exhaust this funding.

Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Scholarship for Small Business Assistance

Medina, Ohio dedication $200,000 from the US bailout bill to help small businesses still battling the pandemic. The Medina Department of Economic Development is processing applications for the Small Business Assistance Grant. About $50,000 of the money is earmarked for companies with ten or fewer employees. The rest can go to small businesses with 50 full-time employees or less. Businesses must be able to prove financial loss due to the pandemic. The funds must be used for hiring or retaining workers or expenditures related to the workforce.

Grant Assistance for the Expansion of the Jackson County Road

Jackson County, North Carolina is Show Grants for small businesses that have to relocate because of highway construction in NC 107. The Jackson County Board of Commissioners recently voted to provide a small stipend of up to $1,000 to help with relocation expenses not covered by the NC Department of Transportation’s assistance programs. So far, it looks like at least 35 companies will have to relocate, but more could be affected depending on how construction progresses.

Dayton Scholarship for Entrepreneurship Service Provider

Entrepreneur Center in Dayton, Ohio only Receive $14.9 million in grant to help local tech companies. The funding comes from Ohio Third, an economic initiative run by the state. The organization will use the Entrepreneur Service Provider Grant to help local technology companies start and grow. The organization offers a variety of services, from connecting business with professional services to helping with prototyping. So this funding will go towards strengthening these initiatives.

Small Douglas County Restaurant Scholarship Program

Douglas County, Nebraska dedication $700,000 in federal ARPA funds for a new grant program for small restaurants. Local restaurants that have been negatively affected by the pandemic and that meet other eligibility requirements can apply for up to $10,000. Grants will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.

Chatham County ARPA Scholarships

Chatham County, Georgia to provide Grants of up to $25,000 to businesses adversely affected by COVID-19. The grant program was initially launched only to serve businesses in unincorporated areas of the province. However, it recently expanded eligibility to accept applications from all small businesses in the province. Only those in Savannah are not eligible, as the city offers its own grant program. Some qualifications include no chain or franchise relationship, intent to remain in business for the next 12 months, and fewer than 100 employees.
