Men’s Basketball announces the schedule for not holding the conference

Omaha, Neb. – Five home games, five neutral site games and a road trip to Texas for BIG 12 – BIG EAST Battle is part of Crighton’s 2022-23 men’s basketball schedule, announced by head coach Greg McDermott Thursday, July 28The tenth.

In the wake of back-to-back NCAA Championship appearances, Creighton’s non-conference schedule has the potential to rank among the toughest in program history.

“I’ve always felt that if you have a good team and some veterans coming back, you need to challenge yourself with a good schedule,” said McDermott, who is entering his 13th team.The tenth Season with Bluejays. “We did that and then some. Not only are we playing a good table, but almost all of them are away from home. Most of them are neutral but we’re in Texas, and then we have a high one – a major game at home with Nebraska, so that would set us up for just about anything we’d see. At BIG EAST. Big East will be great again as always.”

The roster begins with an exhibition match at home against the Drury on Sunday, October 30. McDermott teams 29-0 in fall review matches as Division I head coach, including the 12-0 mark at Creighton.

Creighton’s first four games of the regular season will take place inside CHI Health Center Omaha, an extension that begins November 7 with a game against the University of St. Thomas. Creighton is 8-1 all-time against the Tommies, including season-opening victories in 1970-71 and 1976-77.

Creighton hosts North Dakota on November 10 in a game against the Fighting Hawks, then welcomes the Holy Cross on November 14 in Omaha against its Jesuit counterpart. The Bluejays and the Crusaders haven’t met on the hardwood since 1956. The Bluejays concluded their inaugural home run on November 17 in their first-ever meeting against UC Riverside.

The next three weeks of CU include seven matches against some of the best teams in America. The extension begins with three games at the Maui Jim Maui Invitational in Hawaii. CU will play the games on November 21, November 22, and November 23 against a field that includes Arizona, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Louisville, Ohio State, San Diego State and Texas Tech. This category is expected to be revealed next month.

Jays returns to the mainland on December 1 when he plays in Texas in the Big 12 – BIG EAST Battle. The Longhorns are expected to be in the top 15 in pre-season polls for next year under coach Chris Bird.

In-state competitor Nebraska comes to CHI Health Center in Omaha on December 4 for the non-conference home game of the season in Creighton. The Bluejays have won 10 of their last 11 matches against the Cornhuskers.

The Bluejays finished play no conference with a pair of site-neutral games in Las Vegas as CHI Health Center Omaha prepares to host the NCAA volleyball tournament. CU faces BYU on December 10, then Arizona two days later. Both competitions will take place at the Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort.

Conference schedule for 20 games for Creighton 10The tenth The season is expected to launch at BIG EAST in September. The 2023 BIG EAST tournament is scheduled to take place from March 8-11 and will be held again at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
